The new route, with two weekly frequencies (Fridays and Sundays), strengthens connectivity between Sardinia and Piedmont, offering a strategic link between two territories rich in tourist and commercial opportunities.

Flights will operate from December 19 every Friday and Sunday with the following schedules:

Cuneo – Cagliari Cagliari – Cuneo

Schedules are designed to allow both weekend leisure travel and business travel, with the option of spending the weekend at the destination of choice.

A bridge between sea and mountain

The new connection meets a twofold need: on the one hand, it enables Sardinians to conveniently reach the mountain and ski resorts of the Cuneo Alps, including Limone Piemonte, Prato Nevoso and the Langhe; on the other hand, it gives Piedmontese and northern Italian tourists easy access to the beauty of southern Sardinia, with its crystal-clear coastline, archaeological sites and rich food and wine heritage. Cuneo Airport is also a convenient access point for reaching important tourist and business destinations such as Turin, Alba, the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, UNESCO World Heritage areas.

GaetanoIntrieri, CEO of Aeroitalia, said: “We are proud to announce this new connection linking two extraordinary territories of our country. The Cuneo-Cagliari route represents an important piece of our domestic network development strategy, geared toward connecting Italy’s regions with direct, convenient and efficient connections. Sardinia has always been at the heart of our schedule, and this new flight confirms our commitment to ensuring ever greater connectivity to the region. At the same time, we aim to enhance airports such as Cuneo, an ideal gateway to discover the excellence of Piedmont. We are confident that this connection will be appreciated both by leisure travelers, who will be able to alternate between sea and mountains, and by the business segment, thanks to schedules designed to optimize travel. Tickets will be on sale from this week and we invite everyone to book to take advantage of our launch fares.”

According to Fabio Mereu, CEO of SOGAER, Cagliari Airport Management Company, “The launch of the Cagliari-Cuneo connection with Aeroitalia represents a new step in the expansion of our domestic network. This operation strengthens the presence of direct flights between Sardinia and Northern Italy, responding to a concrete need of our passengers and offering new travel opportunities in a period of high mobility. The collaboration with Aeroitalia confirms our shared commitment to develop connectivity that goes beyond the mere dimension of territorial continuity. It is an important signal for our airport, which continues to grow as a privileged gateway for those arriving in Sardinia and as a convenient departure point for Sardinians heading to areas rich in tourist and professional interest. The connection with Cuneo also enhances a sea-mountain axis with excellent potential, offering practical solutions for weekend trips, business travel and for those who want a short getaway to an area that perfectly complements that of Sardinia. We are confident that this service will meet with public approval, and we thank Aeroitalia for choosing to invest in our airport.”

Anna Milanese, Accountable Manager of Cuneo Airport, said: “We are very happy that Aeroitalia has taken the opportunity to serve such an important route for our airport. For a long time our airport has been a reference point for those traveling to and from Sardinia, and the return of the connection with Cagliari also in the winter period is an added value for the whole territory. The operation of flights will offer new opportunities to visit their respective destinations: from the people of Cuneo and Piedmont who will be able to take advantage of it to experience the holidays or weekends in South Sardinia, to Sardinian tourists who will be able to comfortably reach our ski resorts. Not to mention the many commuters who routinely use this route. We hope that the collaboration with Aeroitalia can continue and develop further.”
