Genoa, November 7, 2022 – The #salvALI awareness and fundraising campaign, launched by Flying Angels Foundation to spread and support efforts to organize life-saving flights for girls and boys around the world who are seriously ill and in need of urgent care unavailable in their home countries. Like little Coumba, a 3-year-old Senegalese girl born with a severe heart condition that required delicate surgery that could not be performed in her country. Thanks to Flying Angels Foundation and its solidarity network, Coumba was able to fly to Italy, to Sant’Orsola Hospital in Bologna, where she recently underwent the operation that saved her life.
Starring in the #salvALI campaign, Coumba is just one of more than 2,400 children Flying Angels has been able to reach in its first 10 years of operation, funding more than 4,500 airline tickets since 2012, including those related to more than 80 medical missions that have traveled to countries.

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ENAC (National Civil Aviation Authority), Assaeroporti and Airports 2030, the initiative counts on the growing cooperation of airports. There are 24 member airports throughout Italy: Bari, Brindisi, Foggia and Taranto, Catania and Comiso, Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa, Naples and Salerno, Alghero, Bergamo, Bologna, Cagliari, Cuneo, Genoa, Palermo, Turin, and Trapani (associated with Assaeroporti) and Rome Fiumicino, Rome Ciampino, Venice, Treviso, and Verona (associated with Aeroporti 2030).

The #salvALI campaign will be conveyed through a print ad, a radio spot and a TV spot, thanks to the participation of many national and local media partners, who have granted space free of charge.
FLYING ANGELS FOUNDATION
Flying Angels Foundation is a nonprofit organization that specializes in airlifting seriously ill girls and boys in need of life-saving treatment unavailable in their home countries.
Flying Angels Foundation assists children from all over the world who are in need of delicate specialized care: it buys airline tickets for them and their families to quickly reach the most appropriate hospital facilities or funds the flight of specialized medical teams who can solve several cases together directly on site. He collaborates continuously with major humanitarian organizations that report the most urgent situations and with numerous physicians at major Italian children’s hospitals. For very serious clinical situations, for which a flight on a commercial airliner is impossible, aircraft with dedicated medical equipment and medical personnel are used to assist the little ones in flight. Should the need arise, the Foundation provides support for the paperwork required by Italian consular offices around the world, opening contacts and providing the necessary documentation for visa issuance.
Flying Angels Foundation provides a specialized service to support nonprofit organizations involved in pediatric health care: since 2012 to date, working with more than 100 Italian and international nonprofit organizations, Flying Angels has reached more than 2,400 children in nearly 80 countries around the world, funding more than 4,500 airline tickets, including those related to more than 80 medical missions that went directly to the countries.
