The system covers only non-EU\/EEA nationals traveling to or from the Schengen area for short-term stays (up to 90 days out of 180). <\/p>\n<p>As of October 20, 2025, EES is also operational at Cuneo Airport, in line with the national implementation plan.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h4>\n                    <strong>What it is and how it works<\/strong><br \/>\n                  <\/h4>\n<p>EES replaces manual stamps in the passport with an electronic record of entry and exit data.<\/p>\n<p>During border control, they will be collected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>travel document data,<\/li>\n<li>entry and exit dates,<\/li>\n<li>Biometric data (facial image and fingerprints).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The system aims to make checks faster, safer and more transparent, preventing identity fraud and facilitating the management of flows at the EU&#8217;s external borders.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h4>\n                    <strong>What changes for travelers<\/strong><br \/>\n                  <\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Checks will be made through electronic devices.<\/li>\n<li>A valid passport must be presented.<\/li>\n<li>It is recommended to allow a few extra minutes for monitoring, especially in the first few months of activation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information about the new EES system: <a href=\"https:\/\/travel-europe.europa.eu\/ees\">https:\/\/travel-europe.europa.eu\/ees<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>                [\/et_pb_text]<br \/>\n              [\/et_pb_column]<br \/>\n            [\/et_pb_row]<br \/>\n          [\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Entry-Exit System (EES) The new Entry-Exit System (EES) has been active since October 12, 2025 in all European Union countries.
